'Teacher talk' podcast launch

We are extremely excited to announce the launch of a new podcast! Teacher talk is a collaboration with Alexia, from @teachingwithalexia on Instagram and TikTok, and is all about supporting and empowering teachers. Alexia will be chatting to other educators in the online community about teacher wellbeing, lifestyle, the hiring process, behaviour management and much more.

Episode one: Teaching and social media

In the first episode, Alexia is joined by Annie from @stepinsidemyclassroom. The pair (who met on social media themselves) discuss all things teaching and social media.

Teaching social media accounts are truly a new sensation, taking Instagram and TikTok by storm over the past few years.

But what are the rules around having social media as a teacher? Does it affect your chances of being hired as a pre-service teacher? Do you need to let your school know about your teaching account? These are the questions that many teachers with public social media accounts are asking themselves.

Alexia and Annie discuss all the answers to your teacher- and social media-related questions in this episode, Teaching and social media. Interested in seeing Alexia and Annie in the recording studio? Check out a fun snippet here.

Having a teaching account is such a new phenomenon that I think many people are still learning to navigate. There are many blurred lines and unwritten rules.
