Refugee Week: Free teaching resources

Every single day, thousands of people are forced to flee their homes, their lives and everything they have. A large portion of those who are displaced are children, putting them out of school and on the run. Each year, we remember their plight by celebrating World Refugee Day on 20 June. On this day we applaud the strength, perseverance and bravery of the millions of refugees all around the world.

To help you and your students commemorate this occasion, we have created a Refugee Week teaching resource. Show your support and help your students understand the issues facing refugees, and prepare them to become thoughtful and contributing world citizens. This free pack includes:

  • infographic posters to give your students and children context on the magnitude of the issue
  • vocabulary cards to help provide understanding to the terms being used
  • discussion cards to encourage students to think critically, and to help you lead meaningful discussions.
